Babinski sign is dorsiflexion of the big toe and fanning of the other toes when firm but gentle pressure is applied against the lateral sole of the foot from the heel upward to the little toe and then across the big toe.

Babinski Sign is normal during infancy but abnormal after about 1 year of age or when a child begins walking.
